The Sunflower and Snowdrops playgrounds have the Play-Safe system from Play-Rite which is designed to protect children when playing on raised equipment. The provision of safer areas for children to play reduces the risk of grazes and strained limbs, which result when children fall on unprotected hard surfaces. The surface just looks like a green carpet with three increasingly shock-absorbing layers underneath it. The surface is tested to BS EN 1177 1997 for impact absorption in playground surfacing.
