Summer term ends 20th July for funded and term time only children. Autumn term starts 3rd September.
Reminder! – Please can we remind all parents to bring in sun cream and sun hats as the weather is getting warmer.

My little girl’s first day at Childsplay was at the age of 5 months and she leaves in a couple of weeks to start her big school journey! There is no doubt in my mind that she is more than ready for the next phase of her journey, she will be starting school in September and is capable of counting to 50, writing her own name and can recite the full phonetic alphabet, Childsplay have played a massive part in her journey and I cannot thank them enough!

The girls at Childsplay have been amazing each and every step of the way, from weening, to potty training to moving house – the transition from home life to nursery life has been seamless and is the main reason I chose to keep my little girl in this nursery despite now living in Leeds. It’s a big decision to return to work full time as a mum but knowing that my little girl has been so happy to attend nursery has made the mama guilt much easier to take!

Thank you all so much, I know my child is going to miss you lots! 🙂

Child's Play was established in 2001 and was formerly St. Matthew's Church Hall, which underwent a major refurbishment to meet recommendations by social services and Ofsted.

We obtained a GOOD from Ofsted in January 2014, to read the report please click here. Child's Play is a member of the National Day Nurseries Association (NDNA). The nursery is a registered day care provider by Ofsted and offer first class day-care for 47 children aged between 0 - 8 Years.

We feel that children learn to play so we offer lots of fun activities for the children to take part in which also help them to learn and develop. A development file is produced for each child showing the fun activities they have been taking part in. This is then linked to the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) which is a curriculum from birth to school.

We have 12 level 3 qualified staff and also a qualified teacher. We also have a full time cook who prepares fresh meals on the premises daily. We have 5 stars for hygiene and a Gold healthy award from Kirklees for providing healthy meals.

  • We aim to provide a safe, secure, caring and stimulating environment where children's self confidence and esteem can grow.
  • To provide enjoyable activities where they can gain knowledge, life experience and be able to integrate with children of similar ages.
  • To provide a background which reflects and respects the various cultures and backgrounds in which people live.
  • To encourage self-respect, courtesy, politeness and to provide a natural transition from nursery life to school life to ensure that each child is well prepared for the national curriculum.
